• About HBA

    Home Buyer Assistance San Diego (HBA) is establishing a local presence in the fourth quarter of 2010. This is the first time it has been introduced to the San Diego housing market. HBA has been very successful for many years in other markets. The program is simple, it assists buyers with closing costs. Home buyers can appropriate these funds for other purposes. HBA candidates fall into three categories;

          1. - A buyer who may use the extra funds for Home Improvement, Repairs, Furniture, Electronics or Landscaping.
          2. - A buyer who may place the extra funds into a savings or investment account.
          3. - A buyer who may not have all of the funds needed for both the down payment and closing costs.

    HBA is privately funded. Several local businessman have contributed to fund the HBA. The sole purpose is to "Promote Home Ownership for San Diego residents" and stimulate the local economy. There are no repayment requirements thus HBA funding is a true Grant. With the downsizing and elimination of down payment assistance, HBA is not expected to be available for long. There is an estimated 500 home buyers who will benefit from HBA funding. Zip codes are selected utilizing strategic demographics. Please visit the home page to see what zip codes are currently available.

    The approved list of Brokers and Agents authorized to distribute HBA funds is growing rapidly. Home Buyers should not wait if they are interested in HBA funds. Once the current fund is reserved there will be no further funds available.
